My Momma's Coming!

I haven't seen my mom in 5 months. FIVE months. Since our wedding. That's nuts. It's the longest we've ever gone without seeing each other and I cannot wait to see her! (and my Dad too of course ;) But that's what happens when you live in two different states and both have jobs with limited

I pick them up Thursday night and we will be going straight to their favorite Mexican food restaurant- Chuy's. They don't get it in Denver and always crave it when they come back to Texas. It's a family favorite.

Then we will be headed to Arkansas for the Razorback's first game against Tennessee Tech! So excited to see my brother! He's #59 if you ever catch a game on TV :).

Bachelorette, Baby and footBALL.

This is what I call a random post. I have 3 things to talk about which really don't have anything to do with each other.

But here it goes anyways.

This past weekend I went to Austin for a couple reasons. The initial reason was for my friend- Catherine's bachelorette party.

17 of her close girl friends traveled to Austin to celebrate Catherine! It was super fun.

With the beautiful bachelorette

With Melissa

But it was also an opportunity to see Daryn who now lives in Austin. (I don't have any pictures- sad). And we got to see Merrill's two week old baby- Parker! She was beyond perfect and so sweet to hold. Thank you Merrill and Chase for letting us visit your sweet family so soon after she was born!

And now I'm going to switch my focus to the future. Next weekend is the start of college football!! I am SO excited. Of course we can't be in two places at once so we will not be at the Baylor game but we will be in Fayetteville for my brother's first last game as a Razorback! So proud of him. WOO PIG SOOIE!

Sideline Shot- That's My Brother!!

Brother with his hands on the ball about to snap..

We will be going to at least 4 Arkansas games and at least 4 Baylor games...so pretty much every single weekend in the fall will be centered around football and I love it. I can't wait.

Things I'm Loving Thursday

I know several other blogs do "Things I'm loving Thursdays" and I think it's such a fun idea and easy thing to blog about- so I'm borrowing it. Well, let's be honest. I'm stealing the idea :)

Happy Thursday everyone! I love Thursdays because you're that much closer to the weekend!

I have a couple things I'm loving today:

1. The new trend- Jeggings. You heard me. Jeans + Leggings= Jeggings. I want some SO bad. These aren't cheap leggings that look like denim. Its a true blend of leggings and denim. I think it's a great way for "not super model skinny" people to wear skinny jeans. They are elastic in the waist so no muffin top...and they come in petite/tall.

Gap has a great selection. I want them in black first...then in dark denim.

2. The way my teeth feel after a teeth cleaning. Just went to the dentist today for my 6 month cleaning....it really is a pick me up.

And so is this picture...

3. Cardigans. I love that the weather has cooled off a little bit here in Dallas (below 100 degrees) and it makes me want to buy cardigans for the fall.

I love the selection at Lands End. I think they have the best selection of cardigans for great prices. I know I should get a pop of color...but I'm drawn to the neutral. It would go with everything!

4. I'm addicted to Panera Bread's tomato mozzarella panini. I usually only order half a sandwich with a cup of chicken noodle soup to help with calories...but if you like tomatoes, mozzarella and Basil go get this panini.

5. Lastly, seeing my husband love on his precious nephew during his recent visit to Oregon.

It makes my heart so happy.

What are you loving today?

Birthday Celebrations!

Well I'm officially TWENTY FIVE!! It's nuts. I really can't believe it!!

As weird as it is to be OLD...I look at my life with a smile on my face and in my heart because I am so blessed. I love my life. I love my husband. I love my job. I love my family. I love my friends. Why not celebrate being one year older?!?

and did we celebrated. :)

The "party day" started with a yummy brunch at Fernando's- one of my most favorite places to eat right by our house. Oh and did I mention the free-unlimited mimosas?!?

Then Melissa and I took off to get our nails done at this incredible spa also near my house...ya'll when I say incredible, I mean it! Everything was SUPER nice. You got to pick the scent for all the lotions/soap that they were going to use. The massages were beyond amazing. The service was amazing...and they served free wine! Thank you Melissa for that wonderful gift!

Melissa and I (obviously not taken on my birthday)

After doing some shopping and errands it was time to get ready for a dinner party with some friends at Coal Vines- Pizza and Wine bar.

It was such a fun dinner and so wonderful to celebrate with so many of my great friends.

The whole group

With my amazing husband/birthday party planner. Thank you David for a special evening!

With my best friend since high school- Caroline

Maggie and Melissa- we were college roommates and continue to keep enjoying life together

One of my good friends from college- Catherine with her sweet fiance Alex. Can't wait to be apart of their special day in December!

All the girls

And now for the boyz...

Chris and Bill- both are fraternity brothers of Davids but have become some of my closest guy friends

The rest of my close guy friends- Jay, Jdub, and Kent...being... well.... normal

My yummy cake from "Nothing Bundt Cakes"

Then on my actual birthday just three days later it worked out last minute for Caroline and I to have a very fun lunch at the Zodiac room at Nieman Marcus downtown. It was SO good and meant so much to me that she would take the time to go with me.

David and I had a very yummy and very special dinner together at Al Biernat's in Dallas...SO good...

Thank you to those who made my birthday very special- all your emails, texts, phone calls, and cards completely brightened my day!

Here's to another blessed year!

Adventures in Babysitting

Remember the classic movie Adventures in Babysitting?

It's a great 80's movie that David and I love and last night we had our own taste of babysitting!

We helped out some friends who are visiting from New York with their 3 month old TWINS and 3 year old son! It was definitely an adventure!

Lots of- "Ok you take this baby and feed her. I'll get this one and bathe her. Now you take this one and change her and I'll take that one and feed her.."

There was constant "swaying" and "bouncing" trying to keep these precious girls happy. By the end of the night David and I both had shaky arms from holding them. I mean my arm is SORE! haha

Look at this precious picture of the twins in their swaddles..they are little baby burritos!

All in all- I'd say we did pretty good and were glad to help where we could.

Daryn's Leaving Dallas Too!!

That's right TWO of my dear friends are leaving Dallas (well Hannah is already in Waco) but Daryn is moving to Austin, Texas this weekend!

Again- SO excited for her and for what awaits her in Austin but I am SUPER sad not to have her in Dallas!

Can't wait to come visit you though!
