Oscar Re-Cap

Oh how I love the Oscars!

LOVED Sandra Bullock's stunning red dress by Vera Wang.

Jennifer Hudson showed off her new body in this FABULOUS Versace dress. That tangerine color was a perfect choice!

Natalie Portman is so beautiful in this violet-hued dress by the same designer as her ballet costumes in Black Swan, Rodarte.

I also enjoyed her acceptance speech. She's so well spoken and thanked the people we never hear about: hair and makeup artists, camera crew etc. She is a class act.

Reese Witherspoon- I love you!

This Armani dress was super classy and looked awesome with the green earrings and 60's pony tail. Beautiful.

Last but not least, Gwyneth Paltrow. I loved this Calvin Klein dress on her!

A few "Fashion Fails" included:

Nicole Kidman's excessively-embroidered gown by Christian Dior. It was terrible. I am such a fan of hers and that dress did nothing for her perfect figure.

Melissa Leo's dress was a miss in my book. I loved the high collar and the short sleeves but I was not a fan of the texture or print of this dress. Not to mention her awful speech. I do not think her cussing "mishap" was an accident. It was inappropriate and left me with a bad taste in my mouth.

I loved both Christian Bales and Colin Firth's acceptance speeches. I loved the story about how the director got the idea to do King's Speech. Lastly, I loved hearing Celine Dion sing during the "In Memoriam" section. She's so good!

Two Recent Finds

We recently watched these two movies and they were so good, I had to share! They were BOTH hysterical and entertaining!

Wag The Dog (1997)
"Before elections, a spin-doctor and a Hollywood producer join efforts to "fabricate" a war in order to cover-up a presidential sex scandal."

Noises Off (1992)
"A travelling theater group find so much action going on behind-the-scenes, they almost ruin the performances."

I highly recommend.

Weekend Wrap Up

David and I had a great weekend!

Friday night we got to catch up with our friends Daryn and Matt at a new restaurant {to us} called Common Table. It was delicious and I LOVED the vibe.

Saturday David and I went for a bike ride around Bauchman Lake. We had amazing weather! It's right by Love Field Airport so this is not uncommon..

Saturday night we had a delicious meal with Lindsey and her sweet parents, Sharon and Garry at The Porch. We ALWAYS have a good time with them! Thank you for letting us join in on the fun!

Sunday was lazy for me! After church and lunch, I crashed on my couch! I guess I needed the nap :) David was productive and got some golf in.

Hope you all enjoyed a wonderful weekend!
To those who have President's Day off, I hope you know how lucky you are!!

Things I'm Loving Thursday

Hello friends! Happy Thursday!

So many thing to love today.

1. The beautiful weather we have been having in Dallas! It puts me in such a great mood when I can sit outside on a patio somewhere without 3 layers on ;).

2. Girl Scout Cookies are HERE!! yum. I am a Thin Mint kinda girl. It take immense self control to only eat 1-2 at a time. They are SO addicting and delicious.

3. P90X Cardio. This is a love hate relationship. I love it when my jeans fit looser but I hate the 100 vinyasas. This is a MUST this week. Why you ask? Read #2.

4. Eatzi's. Why do I revert back to food? This is a problem. However, Eatzi's makes healthy eating easy with their make your own salads. YUMMY!

5. David and I have officially booked our one year anniversary trip! We were already going to be in L.A. for my sister's wedding so we decided to stay a couple extra days in the beautiful Santa Barbara area.

Some pictures of our boutique hotel..can't wait!

What are you loving today?

My {Funny} Valentine

My Valentine is really really funny!
"Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy; then they said among the nations,'The Lord has done great things for them.'” Psalm 126:2

He makes me laugh harder than anyone else on this earth. Life is so much more fun with him!

He is also very smart and wise!
"An intelligent heart acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge." Proverbs 18:15

He is creative.
"Whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." 1 Corinthians 10:31

Click on the picture below to see what he did for me a couple years ago.

He is quite the handy man! He is always fixing something and finding ways to serve. :)
"Through love serve one another." Galatians 5:13

I love his heart.
"Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me." Psalm 51:10

He is faithful to me and the Lord.
"But who can find a faithful man?" Proverbs 20:6

He is so handsome!
"Behold, you are handsome, my beloved! Yes, pleasant!" Song of Solomon 1:16

He loves me and makes me the happiest girl in the world!

"I am my beloved's, and his desire is toward me." Song of Solomon 7:10

Happy Valentine's Day David. I love you :)

Things I'm Loving Thursday

Happy Thursday friends! Today I'm LOVING:

1. my new blog design! I had fun finding a new Valentine's background! I'm not very good with all the design parts on the blog but thanks to shabbyblogs.com I'm happy wih this change!

2. Glee. I know, I'm a little behind on the Glee train. ALL of my friends love this show and I knew I would too! But I wanted to watch it from the beginning. Well, I gave up on that and caught a couple episodes last weekend and now I'm hooked!

It makes me want to walk around and break into song. Watch out. I just might do it.

3. my HUNTER boots! They have come in handy with all this rain/sleet/snow/slush we've had lately. I had originally got brown but I'm loving the matte black I just switched to.

4. Sarah's House on HGTV. Have you ever caught one of these episodes? I LOVE it. Sarah Richardson completely rennovates a house. This past season was a farmhouse redo. I recently caught the episode for the family bathroom and I'm obsessed.

I love the color scheme and just overall cozy feel. I love the curtains and the modern twist on the claw foot tub. Don't worry, she still put a shower in, you just can't see it in this picture. It's in the far back left.

I love the crown molding windows (there's probably an offical design term for this). It gives the walls character! I also know this from watching the show but inside the picture frames are blue stamps from a foreign country! I think that is such a neat idea!

I absolutely LOVE these vanities. They were two dressers from a flea market that they cut the top off to put a sink in. I want.

Click HERE to see the other rooms in the house. I pretty much just want to move in. It's a dream.

5. Lastly, I'm loving a fun filled weekend planned with my Valentine. Can't wait!

Recent Movies

David was away this past weekend for a buddy's bachelor party and thus I caught up on some fun {girlie} movies!

I watched the 3rd Twilight Saga: Eclipse

Then I decided I wanted to see New Moon again, so I watched it.

Then I thought well might as well finish the series, so I watched the 1st one: Twilight.

It was sort of fun watching them backwards!

Then I watched Letters to Juliet. LOVED this movie! It's basically all in Italy so I was easily entertained.

Today, we had another snow day! So I watched the movie The Young Victoria. I really enjoyed this movie! I always love a good movie from true historical events and I especially love movies about the previous Sovereigns of England.

David is very grateful I got all these "out of the way" and it kept me from feeling too lonely at the house! :)

Things I'm Loving Thursday

Happy Thursday everyone! For most of my Dallas friends, you are probably reading this from home as today is the 3rd snow day for most! I can't believe the ice storm we have been hit with! Schools have been closed for three days now and I just heard reports that we're getting snow tonight and tomorrow! NUTS!

Today I'm loving:

New Make Up! My make up stash is seriously embarrassing. Almost all of my stuff is either broken and falling apart or completely empty. I always try to keep my make up part luxe and part drug store. This keeps the cost of replacing things WAY down. Unfortunately though, all my luxe items are out at once this time ;( I mean I've been using red lipstick for blush! So today during lunch, I ventured out and bought some new make up. Has anyone heard of CARGO? I'm trying it out!I bought some face primer and "blue-ray" pressed powder.
I'll have to do a post on how it's working for me! It's supposed to be flawless but still natural. Sounds good right?

My Origins Ginger Souffle Whipped Body Cream. With all this cold weather, my hands are so dry! This stuff is the BEST!

Instant Netflix. David and I can stream Netflix through our Blue-Ray DVD player...so technical right? It's been a saving grace through these past few snow days! We love watching TV shows on here. Favorites include: LOST {all 6 seasons}, Lie To Me, Mad Men, 30 Rock, Dexter and Weeds.

Filing our Taxes is complete! Again, thanks to two snow days! Feels good to have it done so early and a nice refund on it's way! We use TurboTax, it made it so easy to file jointly for the first time!

I'm loving some new recipes we've discovered on Cooking Light.com.

We loved this Orecchiette with Kale, Bacon, and Sun-Dried Tomatoes Only 9 points for my WW PointsPlus friends.

And these delicious Fish Tacos with Cilantro Lime Crema. Again only 9 WWPP.

Tonight we're having these Greek Lamb Chops! Yummy! Only 5 WWPP.
