David's Merry Christmas Gift!

I thought I would share the gift I gave to David....a new suit and bow tie!

He got to wear his Christmas gift to a friend's wedding this weekend...doesn't he look so handsome?!?!

I love going to weddings while we are engaged, it is so special to hear the vows many times...we will have gone to 5 wedding during our engagement!! It is an honor to witness those who grasp the picture of what Christ designed marriage for and who do not enter into this union lightly.

3 months and 5 days...but who's counting? Oh you bet I am :)

A Houston Visit with the Newlyweds

It was so surreal going to visit our friends and newlyweds, Melissa and Jdub in their brand new condo!! It was so fun catching up with these two on the wedding, the honeymoon, life in Houston, life as a married couple!

We got into Houston pretty late on Friday so I don't have any pictures from Friday night but we ate pizza and stayed up chatting until 1:30am!! And yes we sang Happy Birthday to Melissa at midnight!

Then we woke up Saturday morning and had coffee and cinnamon rolls (per Melissa's request-it was her birthday after all!) We decided to watch Four Christmases- love that movie! Makes me laugh so hard.

Then we got dressed and had lunch at the amazing Little Bigs restaurant. mmm They have the best sliders in the world! After the yummy lunch we headed to downtown Houston to Discovery Gardens where where we watched some people ice skate on the outdoor rink and walked around downtown. We were going to ice skate but the ice looked like nasty slush and there were a lot of people...so we observed :)

We then went back to their apartment and I helped Melissa put up her tree!!

With the flash on:

With the flash off:

I loved these trio glass domes that Melissa put ornaments in (I added the berries)

I also loved this candle centerpiece she had on their table...very Anthropologie to me...

After decorating we popped the cork on this glorious bottle of wine. This was our wedding gift to Melissa and Jdub along with a set of 12 stemless wine glasses...They were so kind to share this wine with us!! It was SO good!

Robert Craig-1999 Cabernet Sauvignon

After some wine, cheese, and salami we got dressed for a birthday dinner out! Melissa loves Mexican food so we went to a really good place near their condo...yum!

We had a blast and can't wait to go back and visit!!

Seeking Restoration

Whew. I am struggling.

I know many of have felt this way many times before, or are feeling this way now. I know for us believers in Christ, these times can be a time of hope.

I am hopeful for restoration.

I seek restoration for my parents, for my sister, for my brother, for my fiance, for my friends, and for myself.

Without getting into every detail of why I am struggling I will instead tell you that I am encouraged today.

I am encouraged that I serve a God of refuge and strength because I cannot be strong without Him.

I am encouraged that I have friends who would take the time to send me encouraging words and verses.

I am encouraged that I have a fiance who is so comforting and kind.

I am encouraged.

If you wouldn't mind lifting a prayer for my family-specifically my daddy (Dennis) tonight I would greatly appreciate it. He has fallen on the slippery ice of Colorado and has 4 fractures in his hip and pelvic bone.

This is also on top of other severe pain that he has been having in his wrists and ankles.

As my earthly father, he has always been strong for our family. It is hard to see him hurting. So I am seeking restoration.
I leave you with some encouraging words from my sweet friends today:

"God never gives us more than we can handle because if we lift it up to Him, Christ who is all-powerful has the strength that we obviously lack. A quote that helps me in situations like this is (paraphrased), "God never promised that as believers we would be delivered from our struggles. But he does promise to deliver us through our struggles."

"And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast." 1 Peter 5:10

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does."
James 1: 2-8

And in the words of my 2.5 yr old niece, Kate who was Annie for Halloween:

"The sun'll come out
Tomorrow
So ya gotta hang on
'Til tomorrow
Come what may
Tomorrow! Tomorrow!
I love ya Tomorrow!
You're always
A day
A way!"

Wedding Website-Check

We finally have our wedding website finished!

You can click the link below to check it out.

www.stephandcaptain.com

Yes you read it right. Steph and Captain. David has several nicknames from our friends and Captain is one of them-and probably my favorite. All the boring web addresses were taken so we decided to be creative and use his nickname :)

We are also excited that our Save The Dates went out over the weekend and I have gotten positive reviews from many of our friends. It's nothing fancy just informative and very official.

Enjoy!

Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan (Jdub) Theilig

Wow! It is official. My very good friends Melissa and Jdub just got married yesterday and we are so excited for them. Their wedding was like a wedding marathon :) We had to be ready by noon. At the church for lunch, get dressed, pictures, steam dresses, and before we knew it, it was time for the ceremony!

Me walking down the Isle.

David was the Best Man so he got to escort me :)

The ceremony was beautiful. Melissa was absolutely stunning. Jdub was beaming. The mother's were a little teary-heck I was a little teary. The musicians sounded beautiful. And then they were officially husband and wife!

Melissa's father is the pastor of their church, so immediately following the ceremony they had a little cake and punch type reception just outside the sanctuary. Then following this reception there was a dinner reception in downtown Ft. Worth at the beautiful City Club.

All the Sigma Alpha Epsilon's

All the Kappa Kappa Gamma's

All the Baylor Alumni

David and I had a blast and it is exciting to think we are coming up close to our date.
