Weekend Wrap-Up

Wow! What a weekend. So much happened in our world. Between devastating tornadoes in the south, a huge Royal Wedding and the #1 terrorist finally getting caught and killed after 10+ years of searching...there's a lot to take in. Emotionally, I'm so sad for the people affected by the tornadoes and pray they find refuge in the only One who can give it.

“Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy on me, for in you my soul takes refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed.” Psalm 57:1

I am filled with gratitude. I am so blessed to live in this great country and I'm so thankful for the US armed forces and all they do to keep us safe!!

I am also filled with joy that I can have a spontaneous weekend with my husband. We literally did not have any set plans...but it turned out to be such a wonderful weekend!

Friday, we decided to eat our new favorite pizza in Dallas at Il Cane Rosso. Try the Cassie. Seriously, the best pizza. The hot soppressatta makes it.

Then on a whim, we decided to go to Cork for some wine tastings. This was so super fun. You put money on a card and swipe it underneath the wine you want to taste. Some tastings were $1.50- $12.00. We stuck with the $2.00- $4.00 tastings :).

Saturday after brunch we decided to go to Ft. Worth for the day. Turned out, Tornado Alley was playing at the IMAX theatre in the Nature & Science museum.

We enjoyed the exhibits on the North Texas dinosaurs, The Barnett Shale and The Cattle Raisers exhibit.

As mentioned above, Tornado Alley was showing in the IMAX theatre. We really enjoyed this plus it was narrated by Bill Paxton. Greatness.

The highlight of the day was getting to go to Joe T. Garcia's for dinner. Oh how I love this place. It's been a long time. I forgot how good it is.

So fun! Hope you and your's had a great one too!
