A New Day...

I have finally done it! I have my own personal blog. I have been pondering for a while now whether or not to start a blog. I honestly thought I should wait till I graduate when I will have the "time." I have learned we never really have "time" or we have all the "time," we just do not use it wisely. I am the latter. For all of you who know me, know that I am a busy person. I function more successfully when I have many things grabbing my time and attention. I have been overly involved for as long as I can remember. So I have come to this realization that I have to stop saying "I don't have time." Maybe because I am growing close to the end of my college days, I am attempting to look more wise and educated to prove I HAVE learned something since my days at Baylor. Maybe I am coming to this realization because I know my life is changing. For whatever the reason, I know I want to enjoy each day without obsessing over time. This really is the only way I can survive this "world of unknown" I am in right now.

I have one semester left at Baylor University. Wow what a crazy thing to type out...I say it but to read it is weird. Yes, I have come to the end of my undergraduate college days. There will be many more blogs to come on college life as I know it, but for my first post I wanted to share why I have started this blog and the name. I am surrounded by tomorrow seeking people. Everyone is talking about what they will do tomorrow and in the future. "What would you like to do when you graduate?" is the most common question. Yes, it is important for me to look to the future considering I will be graduating and will need to find a job. However, I don't want to miss today! Right now I am sitting in Bailey, Colorado with my family reflecting on my life and all the blessings God has given me...why focus on tomorrow? (althought we are hoping to get some skiing in tomorrow in Breckenridge, CO which would also be fabulous)

I honestly had NO CLUE what to call my blog. I tried looking up what Stephanie meant...and just because I know your curious it is Greek for crown. And not wanting to seem pretentious I pressed on for more creative ideas. There is a lot of pressure when naming a blog. Well I put that pressure there I know but I wanted something applicable to my life...so A New Day has stuck. God revealed to me while reading scripture this morning, I need not worry about tomorrow yet be focused on today: a new day.

So today I started a blog...a wonderful way for me to share my thoughts, concerns, favorite things, pictures, updates, etc. But this blog will not be perfect grammar or always interesting to you, but it is here for you to enjoy if so choose.

I encourage you all to do the cliche and "seize the day" for it is a new day...

Yay! You finally started a blog. The title is perfect and the grammar was good too :) I definitely need to take your words to heart because, I too, get caught up looking too far ahead instead of focusing on today. I love you and cant wait till you're home.
