Fall into Fall

It's almost officially fall and it is by far my favorite season! Many people say Texas does not have a fall season...and I disagree. It may not be the same as in other states but I love it.
Apparently the first day of fall is September 22nd but I am already getting excited.

Things I love about the fall...
1. The Texas State Fair (opens September 26th)
2. The smell of pumpkin spice
3. Colors that become the norm (oranges, browns, olive greens, golden yellows, deep purples)
4. I get to wear my suede boots
5. The beautiful nights we just want to sit outside forever and not sweat
6. The smell of cinnimon
7. Pumpkins
8. HALLOWEEN!!! And all the cute little kids dressed up
9. Football season
10. Toasted Pumpkin seeds
11. Thanksgiving
12. Caramel apples
13. Pumpkin patches
14. All my favorite TV series start back up
15. I dye my hair dark
16. Cooking chili and all kinds of different soups
17. Sweaters and sweater dresses
18. Baylor Homecoming
19. Apple Cider
20. Christmas is just around the corner!!

Hope you are all enjoying the new season..you know I am

Dream Come True...

That's it...I've lived my life's dream so I am good to go :) I got to go see James Taylor in concert at the Redrock Amphitheater in Denver, CO. It is honestly one of the most beautiful venues I have ever seen, and to have James' sweet voice serenading me all night was perfect! The only missing ingredient was nice weather...

We arrived early and the whole time leading up to the start of the show it was perfect weather...then James came on stage and the skies opened up and POURED on us. What is SO ironic is that Colorado has been in DIRE need of rain. There has been forest fires because it is so dry.

So for the sake of nature, I am happy it rained! But it was a bit cold and crazy watching James with trash bags on my legs and over my head!

Anyway I took pictures and videos of some of the songs I could take my camera out of the trash bag :)

For all the loved ones who enjoy James and could not be there with us...I brought some of the concert to you

Summer Fun

I love the summer...this summer is a bit different than my "typical" summers. I usually have the whole summer off. It used to be a time of rest and rejuvenation before going back to school in the fall. I used to go to church camp, travel to Colorado and visit my family, spend time by the pool, and my favorite.. sleep in past 10am.

BUT NOW...

My summer is full of waking up by 7:30am Monday through Friday. I only have the weekends to grab some sun and enjoy summer nights...visit friends and family. But I love my weekends :) This summer I have already gone to a DoobieBrothers/Chicago concert. Celebrated David's birthday at a Piano Bar. Visited a friend's lake house where we enjoyed the lake and went extreme tubing all day long. I went to see the best 80's cover band called the SPAZMATICS.

I have gone to the Houston, TX to to visit a restaurant one of my friend's father owns. It's called REEF if you are in the area looking for a great seafood place.

And the summer is NOT over! I have every weekend planned and I love it. Here are some pictures of the fun I have had thus far :)

New Phase, New Life, Same Old Me!

I apologize for the lack of posts...but I am making a promise to myself I will blog much more often now that I am a "big" girl. I am a Baylor graduate, living on my own in an apartment, working 8-5(sometimes more), and loving it.

For those who need a more detailed update...I am working for GVA Cawley, a full-service commercial real estate firm as a leasing agent. I will become more official once I take and pass the state exam for my real estate license...something I am SO ready to be done with! I am incredibly blessed to have this job right out of college. Everyone I work with is so wonderful and so encouraging. Many times in a corporate environment, competition prevents an office from being a comfortable place to work. NOT HERE! Everyone is working hard to be successful don't get me wrong, but no one is tacky towards each other. They congratulate you if you make a deal. They want to see my grow and become successful. It is just encouraging for me because I would be SCARED to DEATH if it were not like this :)

I just moved into my apartment a couple weeks ago in Dallas' Uptown district. I love it! I live with one of my college roommates Maggie and it is so fun living with her as we make our way through this new place in our lives.

David is just seconds away, and it is so wonderful being close to him again. He makes life fun so I am BLESSED to be so close to him!

I will ask for prayer as David and I make the search for a church home. We are anxious and excited to find a place to serve and be served. We long for a community we can count on, share life with, and grow with.

I am in a different place right now. My parents no longer live in Rockwall but are now residents in Bailey, Colorado...I am not going back to school in August. I no longer sleep in past 10am :( I have my own checking account, bills, living experiences, etc. but I am me and I love it!

Here are some pictures from my graduation.

SING!

For those of you familiar with the Baylor community, you are familiar with All-University Sing. It is my favorite Baylor tradition. Organizations on campus prepare a 7 min. musical act with live music, costumes, props, huge painted backdrops...it is college Broadway.

Obviously I love it because I love musicals. I have seen so many musicals, and I would not be sad to see MANY MORE!

Anyway...the groups compete in the Spring for 8 spots in the Fall Pigskin Revue. Judges are flown in from all over the country to decide the top 8 acts from 20! Many of you know I was a sing chair last year for Kappa and it was the busiest most rewarding time!

This year I got to take it a little bit more light heartedly and was apart of SAE's sing act. It was so fun to get to take SING a little less seriously and enjoy everything it offers. This past weekend was the last weekend of SING...and as wonderful as it is to be done with practice, performance schedules, red lipstick, hairspray and fake eyelashes I am sad!

As part of being a senior, your last _______ (fill in) is a bittersweet experience. Participating in SING was my dream since the first time I saw Shawna perform 6-7 years ago!

Here are some pictures of me in SING over the past couple of years...Thanks to Baylor for allowing me to express myself in so many different acts!
