5 MONTHS!

Wow. The wedding countdown has shocked me yet again. I can't believe I am getting married in 5 months from today. It is amazing how fast time flies. David and I were just talking last night how wonderful this time has been but we are so ready to be married!

I still have quite a bit to do for the big day!

-Ask the girls I want to be in my house party
-Ask the ushers to be ushers (David's role)
-Address and Send the Save The Dates
-Finish the wedding website
-Select and reserve the Florist
-Design, Print, and Send the Invitations
-Book transportation
-Decide on Favors
-Book our Honeymoon (Antigua!!)
-Book our first night hotel room
-Find all my wedding outfit accessories (shoes, undergarmets, hair pieces etc.)
-Pick out the men's tuxedoes
-Decide on Ceremony musicians
-Decide on the order of the Ceremony
-Design the Programs
-Finalize reception room layout
-And so much more...

So, needless to say.... I need all of these next 5 months!

Baylor Homecoming 2009

This past weekend David and I made the trip down to Waco for Baylor's 100th Homecoming Celebration.

We started the weekend off right with a yummy dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, Lake Brazos Steakshouse with some of our favorite Baylor friends.

We then spent the rest of the night at our favorite sports bar, Cricket's. It was SO fun running into so many of our friends. It really took me back to college.

We got up bright and early and made it to the parade. I have heard many times (but don't know if it's true...but I believe it is!!) that this is the largest collegiate Homecoming parade. I LOVE parades and have always enjoyed this Baylor tradition.

We then had to head over to stadium for the early game. I think David and I stayed at the game for 1 Quarter...it was not pretty but thank goodness for the vtek's stand outside the stadium and george's tent.

We had the SAE alumni dinner at George's Too. It was really neat to see the different generations of fraternity members in one room.

Melissa made us nametags....her's says "ALMOST Mrs. Dubs" and mine said "ALMOST Mrs. Thompson" too fun!
We finished the weekend off with a lunch at our MOST favorite mexican food restaurant, Ninfa's. YUMMY

I really feel so blessed that not only did David and I go to the same college and therefore share that common thread, but we enjoyed college together. We have built the same friendships and so returning back to campus is always a GREAT time.

Family Togetherness

Well it has been a while since I had my family in town (Oct. 2-5th) but I wanted to share some pictures from their visit.

I really enjoyed having everyone in town, even if it was a short visit. It was also really fun because everyone stayed at my apartment! (my sister, my brother-in-law, my two year old niece, my mom, my dad, and me)

I took everyone up to the Tower Club for lunch on Friday and showed them where the wedding reception was going to be.

Shawna and David took our engagement pictures in Robert E. Lee park on Turtle Creek. I was very impressed with the pictures...Shawna may be on to something.

Here are a couple of my favorites...more to come later.

Then we went to the new Cowboys stadium to watch the Arkansas Razorbacks beat the Texas A&M Aggies. I have to say it was pretty cool seeing your brother on the Cowboy's field!! It was even better cheering them on to a victory. Final Score Arkansas 47- Texas A&M 19!

Then we got to go on the field and under the stadium and see Rhett for a little while. Let me say it again...we were on the Cowboys field, and then we went underneath the massive Jerry World stadium! It was very cool.

We wrapped up a great weekend with a trip to the fair. Kate loved it! I think her favorite part was the petting zoo.

I was really sad to see them go, but we will be together again at Christmas!

An Arkansas Affair

We drove to Arkansas Friday night to see Rhett and the Razorbacks take on the Georgia Bulldogs. It was also Rhett's 21st birthday weekend so we were glad to get to be with him before he officially became an adult!

This was the first time we were able to tailgate before the game. In previous years everyone we knew had a son or brother on the team so they didn't have time to tailgate before heading into the stadium to see the team warm up. The kicker, Jeremy Davis has since graduated so he invited us to join his wife Shannon, his mom Kim, and his inlaws for a REAL SEC TAILGATE!

We were so excited to get to have a hotdog, chips and dip, fruit, all under the official Arkansas tent.

Being that the game was at night we still had some extra time to meet up with my Boss and his son at the Phi Delt House to hear the band they had hired. SO FUN!

The game was awesome...just didn't end up the way we wanted. Final score Georgia 52- Arkansas 41....such a high scoring game! Rhett got lots of playing time, I think he snapped 11 times!

The stadium was full and the crowd was just awesome. We were so loud at one point one of a Georgia offensive lineman jumped off sides because he couldn't hear the snap count!! yes!!!

We had a great time and can't wait to cheer on the team again when they come to Dallas Oct. 3rd to take on the Texas A&M Aggies...
