Wisteria Finds

Wisteria has a warehouse sale happening in Dallas right now. I went today on my lunch break and snagged these few items. I'm so excited to get these placed in our home later!

This gorgeous blue Mediterranean tray. Originally $99...got it for $30!

Blue Mediterranean Tray

This set of three candlesticks. I loved the natural and rustic style and how the candle looks like the holder. Originally $14 just for the small candlestick...got all three for $15!

I love decor scores like this!

Pizza and Wine Night

Last week David took me on a surprise date night to Times Ten Cellars in Lakewood. We hadn't been there in probably 4 years! I had totally forgotten about it!

The vineyard is located 18 miles south of Alpine, Texas but they have tasting rooms in Dallas and Ft.Worth. We had a bottle of the 2009 Syrah and the best part is you can order Il Cane Rosso pizza!

Il Cane Rosso (The Red Dog in Italian) started in a food truck outside Times Ten Cellars and became so popular the owner was able to start his own restaurant in Deep Ellum. David and I swear it's the best pizza in Dallas. It's not greasy, the sauce is perfect and fresh, as is the mozzarella and salumis (cured meat). The owner studied the art of brick-oven pizza in Naples, Italy and came back to Dallas and built his own oven! It's the real deal.

You can read about it HERE.

All this to say, we were thrilled we could order our favorite pizza while tasting some Texas wines. End of story. We will be going back!

High- Low Fashion

I recently went to a spring fashion show at Neiman Marcus and learned what is "hot" this season. Since we can't all afford NM prices, I've found one of the looks for less!

The bright lace dress. We've seen lace dresses since the fall in a classic black or dark grey but now it's all about coral and orange!

High: Diane von Furstenberg's Zarita V'd- Back Lace Dress- $325 at Neiman Marcus

Low: Adrianna Papell Lace Dress- $158 at Dillards

A white shimmery tweed jacket. I love tweed and a white jacket for spring would go with so many things!

High: Alice + Olivia Fae Shimmery Tweed Jacket- $484 at Neiman Marcus

Low: Tahari by ASL Studded Tweed Blazer- $88 at Macy's

TV Line Up

In case you're needing two new recommendations for shows to watch right now, I'm your girl.

1. House of Cards

"Set in present day Washington, D.C.House of Cards is the story of Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey), a Democrat from South Carolina's 5th congressional district and the House Majority Whip, who, after getting passed over for promotion to Secretary of State, decides to exact his revenge on those who betrayed him."
2. The Americans

"Set during the Cold War period in the 1980s, The Americans is the story of Elizabeth (Keri Russell) and Philip Jennings (Matthew Rhys), two Soviet KGB officers posing as American citizens and a married couple."

Both of these shows are so well written and executed. David and I are loving them.

We missed the History Channel's "The Bible" series that premiered last Sunday and we don't have a way to record shows so I think we're going to have to wait until it's finished and buy the whole series. It's getting great press...you should check it out!

A Night at the Great Gatsby Mansion

I am a member of the Dallas Cotillion Club and we had the annual gala this past weekend. All proceeds of the night went to Johnathan's Place. I love this organization's mission statement:

"To provide safe, loving homes and specialized services for children who have been abused, abandoned, or neglected. Our compassionate care inspires hope for a brighter future … one child at a time."

It was really fun to stay at the Stoneleigh Hotel and get dressed up for a night to support a great cause. The theme was "A Night at the Great Gatsby Mansion."

Oscar Opinions and a Hidden Menu

So I know I'm behind on discussing the Oscars but I just now got to watch them so they are fresh on the brain!

1. I thought Seth McFarland did an okay job. It wasn't sooo funny all the time but it wasn't too dirty (which I was worried about) and I loved all the music.

2. I loved all the music.

3. I loved these dresses.

Actress Jennifer Garner arrives at the Oscars at the Dolby Theatre on Sunday Feb. 24, 2013, in Los Angeles. (Photo by John Shearer/Invision/AP)
Jennifer Garner's purple Gucci gown. Loved this jewel tone on her!

85th Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals: Salma Hayek
Salma Hayek's Alexander McQueen gown. I love this neck line.

Jessica Chastain and this Armani Prive dress are a match made in heaven!

Kerry Washington's Miu Miu dress was probably my favorite.
I am a sucker for coral! And that bow on her waist....LOVE.

Other honorable mentions for me were: Sally Fields, Jennifer Aniston, Charlize Theron and Jennifer Lawrence

4. My favorite move of the year was Argo so I'm really glad it won. I also loved Lincoln, Silver Linings Playbook and Zero Dark Thirty so I'm glad they were in the running and got some big awards. I haven't seen Les Meserables (I know, I have to!) but I thoroughly enjoyed the cast's performance!

So that's a wrap on my Oscar opinions. Now I want to bestow some healthy wisdom upon you. Did you know Panera has a "hidden menu" ? They have a few items that are really healthy and great for you but you have to know about them before going to the restaurant!

So far I've had these two salad bowls and they were delicious! I loved that the dressing was just lemon and a little olive oil. Yummy!

Daryn's Bachelorette in Santa Barbara

I was pretty excited when Daryn said she wanted to go to Santa Barbara for her bachelorette party. Excuse to have a girls weekend in sunny California with beautiful beach and hill views. Yes please!

You see Daryn is the most friendly fun person I know so she had a lot of great people who wanted to go on this trip to celebrate her. We had 11 girls...yes 11! We went wine tasting, had lunch on the beach, hung out in the house we rented and had the best time!

Love you sweet friend. So happy excited for you and Matt to get married in Paris!!
