Merry Christmas, My Cousin's Wedding, and a Happy New Year
Wow! I can't believe the holidays have come and gone! It was a whirl wind for me this year! My time with my family was short but oh so sweet. I hope you all enjoyed special time with your loved ones throughout this holiday season.
There is a lot going on right now in my family but we managed to laugh and savor the memories we are creating together.
My 2.5 year old niece, Kate fully grasps who Santa is this year and it made Christmas morning so fun. She asked Santa for a popsicle, a lollypop, and stickers! how cute is that! I told my sister and brother in law they need to soak it in because that wish list will never be so cheap!
Kate lining up her lollypops!

She is also getting into dress up, so Mia and Papaw (my mom and dad) got her some fun dress up items that we all had fun with :)

Then we had a wedding- my cousin Taylor and Stacia got married December 27th in Golden, CO.
The only picture I have of the happy couple- check out those mountains in the background!

My brother, Rhett and I were in the wedding

The kids- my sister, brother-in-law, brother, david and I

And we brought in the New Year amongst great friends!

Mel and Jdub came up from Houston!

David and I

Candice, Melissa, and I

Happy New Year!!

David's Merry Christmas Gift!
I thought I would share the gift I gave to David....a new suit and bow tie!
He got to wear his Christmas gift to a friend's wedding this weekend...doesn't he look so handsome?!?!

I love going to weddings while we are engaged, it is so special to hear the vows many times...we will have gone to 5 wedding during our engagement!! It is an honor to witness those who grasp the picture of what Christ designed marriage for and who do not enter into this union lightly.
3 months and 5 days...but who's counting? Oh you bet I am :)

A Houston Visit with the Newlyweds
It was so surreal going to visit our friends and newlyweds, Melissa and Jdub in their brand new condo!! It was so fun catching up with these two on the wedding, the honeymoon, life in Houston, life as a married couple!
We got into Houston pretty late on Friday so I don't have any pictures from Friday night but we ate pizza and stayed up chatting until 1:30am!! And yes we sang Happy Birthday to Melissa at midnight!
Then we woke up Saturday morning and had coffee and cinnamon rolls (per Melissa's request-it was her birthday after all!) We decided to watch Four Christmases- love that movie! Makes me laugh so hard.
Then we got dressed and had lunch at the amazing Little Bigs restaurant. mmm They have the best sliders in the world! After the yummy lunch we headed to downtown Houston to Discovery Gardens where where we watched some people ice skate on the outdoor rink and walked around downtown. We were going to ice skate but the ice looked like nasty slush and there were a lot of people...so we observed :)

We then went back to their apartment and I helped Melissa put up her tree!!
With the flash on:
With the flash off:

I loved these trio glass domes that Melissa put ornaments in (I added the berries)

I also loved this candle centerpiece she had on their table...very Anthropologie to me...

After decorating we popped the cork on this glorious bottle of wine. This was our wedding gift to Melissa and Jdub along with a set of 12 stemless wine glasses...They were so kind to share this wine with us!! It was SO good!
Robert Craig-1999 Cabernet Sauvignon

After some wine, cheese, and salami we got dressed for a birthday dinner out! Melissa loves Mexican food so we went to a really good place near their condo...yum!

We had a blast and can't wait to go back and visit!!
